On 6 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia, attended the ceremony marking the launch of TransNusa’s Inaugural Bangkok – Jakarta flight at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
The event was attended by more than 40 guests, including H.E Mr. Hari Prabowo, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Niti Vongvichasvadi, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Jakarta Office), Mr. Bayu Sutanto, President Director of TransNusa Aviation, and Mr. Leo Budiman, Vice Chairman of TransNusa Aviation. Ambassador Prapan also delivered congratulatory remarks, emphasizing that the launch of this new route would further strengthen air connectivity between Thailand and Indonesia and create greater opportunities for tourism, business, investment, cultural exchange, and people-to-people ties. The Ambassador also joined the official send-off for passengers on this inaugural flight.
The launch of TransNusa’s inaugural Bangkok – Jakarta flight reflects Thailand’s enduring popularity as one of the preferred destinations among Indonesian travellers. TransNusa is scheduled to launch a new Phuket-Bali route in the near future, which will further enhance tourism connectivity and promote closer people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
