Non-immigrant visa “B”

Non-Immigrant Visa Type “B” may be granted to applicants who intend to travel to Thailand for business purpose or to work in Thailand. The Non-Immigrant “B” Visa (Single-Entry) is valid for 90 days from the date of issue. Visa holders may contact the Immigration Bureau of Thailand, after entering Thailand, for the extension of stay and re-entry permit.

Required Documents:

  1. Visa Application form(s) and photograph(s):
    Completed and signed Visa Application form and 2 recent photograph(s) (size 3.5×4.5 cm). Non-Indonesian applicants may be required to submit more than one set of application form. (See: Additional Requirements for Non-Indonesian Applicants)
  2. Passport (valid for no less than 6 months)
  3. Business-related Documents:
    1. For employment in Thailand
      1. An invitation letter from the employer in Thailand indicating the applicant’s full name, passport number, future position, length of contract, and salary, coupled with a copy of ID card or passport of the authorized person who signed the letter.
      2. Approval Letter from Ministry of Labour (WP3) issued by the Office of Foreign Workers Administration, Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour (Japanese nationals are exempted from submitting WP3, in accordance with JTEPA). Other documents which could be used as substitute for WP3 Approval Letter include a letter from the Board of Investment, public and private universities, schools, international organisations or charitable organisations.
      3. Evidence of qualification (University certificates and CV)
      4. Relevant company documents e.g. Registration Certificate, Company License, and Commercial Registration.
      5. Additional requirements for special professions:
        1. School Teachers
          Curriculum vitae/resume
          Police Record issued by the Indonesian National Police (in English)
          A teaching license
          A copy of school registration/license and signed by authorized person/s
          Applicants for private school’s teacher are also required to submit a letter from the Ministry of Education in Thailand
        2. University Lecturers and Staff
          Curriculum vitae/resume
          A copy of university registration/license and signed by authorized person/s
          Police Record issued by the Indonesian National Police (in English)
        3. Professional Sport Players
          Evidence of previous overseas employment must be in English and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country or relevant authorities
          Proof of no criminal/drug offence record issued by relevant authority of the country where the applicants previously resided

2. For business meetings/training (short-term less than 3 months)

1. Letter from the current employer (indicating the applicant’s full name, passport number, current position, length of contract, and salary, coupled with a copy of ID card or passport of the authorized person who signed the letter. The letter must also indicate the purpose of the trip and exact period of stay in Thailand.)

2. Invitation letter from the company/organisation in Thailand (indicating the applicant’s full name, passport number, current position, length of contract, and salary, coupled with a copy of ID card or passport of the authorized person who signed the letter. The letter must also indicate the purpose of the trip and exact period of stay in Thailand.)

3. Relevant company documents e.g. Registration Certificate, Company License, and Commercial Registration.

4. For Multiple-Entry Visa valid for 1 year, the Invitation letter must indicate at least 3 expected dates of travel and the applicant must have at least 1-year stay permit valid in Indonesia from date of visa application submission.

  1. Application fee (Cash only in Indonesian Rupiah – Non-refundable):
    • Single-Entry Visa valid for 3 months: IDR 1,120,000 (for employment and short-term business meetings/training)
    • Multiple-Entry Visa valid for 1 year: IDR 2,800,000 (for frequent short-term business meetings/training only)

Consular officers reserve the right to request additional documents, or an interview with the applicant, as deemed necessary, without prior notice.

The Royal Thai Embassy reserves the right to refuse visa to applicant with insufficient documents or if the reasons given are not fully supported. The visa fee is non-refundable.

Non-Immigrant Visa Type “O” for accompanying family members:

Family members travelling with the applicant of Non-Immigrant Visa Type “B”, namely; spouse, parents (over 50 years old) or children (unmarried and under 20 years old) are eligible to apply for Single-Entry Non-Immigrant “O” visa. Additional required documents are proofs of family relationship i.e. Marriage Certificate and Birth Certificate and a letter of certification from the employer in Thailand. Civil partnership certificate is not accepted.
