On 17 July 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with the Ministries of Culture of Thailand and Indonesia, organised a Joint Cultural Performance under the theme “75 Years of Friendship, Building a Dynamic Partnership” at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta. Opening remarks were delivered by H.E. Ms. Ploy Tanikul, Vice Minister for Culture of Thailand; H.E. Mr. Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, Vice Minister of Culture of Indonesia; H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand; and Mrs. Endah T.D. Retnoastuti, Director General for Cultural Diplomacy of Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture, highlighting the importance of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the role of cultural exchange in strengthening bilateral relations. H.E. Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to ASEAN was also in attendance.
The event drew an enthusiastic audience of over 400 participants, including Team Thailand officials and their spouses, diplomats, the Thai community, Indonesian government representatives, and the public. The evening featured three acts of vibrant cultural performances by top artists from the Ministries of Culture of both countries. Highlights included the specially choreographed Thai “Blessing Dance – Celebrating 75 Years of Mit Maitree Thai–Indonesia,” Bali’s Puspa Mekar, a powerful Ramakien–Ramayana joint performance, and the grand finale “Friendship Dance,” blending Thai regional dances with Indonesia’s Archipelago Dance. The show ended on a high note with all artists — and both Vice Ministers — joining a joyful Ram Wong on stage.
