Royal Thai Embassy welcomes the delegation from the Princess Maha Chakri Foundation during their visit to Indonesia

On 13 January 2026, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand, welcomed Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara, Chairman of the Princess Maha Chakri (PMCA) Foundation, together with members of the Foundation’s Committee and six Indonesian PMCA Award recipients, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, on the occasion of the delegation’s visit to Indonesia from 11–14 January 2026.

The Ambassador and the Chairman of PMCA Foundation co-chaired meetings between the PMCA Foundation Committee, Team Thailand, and representatives of Thai private sectors and Thai communities. Participants included representatives from the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, the Thai Women’s Association in Indonesia (TWA), and the Thai Friends Community (TFC). The meeting discussed concrete and sustainable ways to support Indonesian PMCA Award recipients.

In addition, during the visit, the PMCA Foundation delegation, together with Mrs. Hathaichanok Riddhagni Frumau, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy, paid a courtesy call on Dr. Suharti, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education of the Republic of Indonesia, to explore ways to further strengthen education cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia. The delegation also visited SLBN Balikpapan School in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, to visit the school of Mrs. Ade Putri Sarwendah, a special education teacher and the most recent PMCA Award recipient, where they received a warm welcome from teachers and students.

The Princess Maha Chakri Award is an international award established to honour outstanding teachers from 14 countries, including 11 ASEAN member countries, as well as Bangladesh, Mongolia, and Bhutan. Since its establishment in 2015, six Indonesian teachers have received this prestigious award.  More information of the Princess Maha Chakri Award can be accessed at www.pmca.or.th.
