On 27–29 August 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, together with the Association of Thai Students in Indonesia (ATSI), organized the annual Thai Student Gathering 2025 at Novotel Jakarta Mangga Dua Square. The event brought together more than 150 Thai students from 31 cities across Indonesia.
On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand to Jakarta, presided over the opening ceremony, underlining the objectives of the event and emphasizing the Embassy’s readiness to support Thai students in Indonesia to live and study happily, achieve success, and foster unity, while developing knowledge and skills for their future careers. Remarks were also given by Mr. Pongprach Makchaeng, Ambassador attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Mr. Piyasiri Wattanawarangkool, Deputy Secretary-General of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC).
The program featured lectures including “Know me, Know You – Happy Me, Happy You” on self-discovery by Mrs. Pathama Sirikul; “From Community Growth to Social Empowerment” on leadership and social impact by Group Captain (Ms.) Sarintorn Suwannapong; “Think Locally, Act Globally” on ASEAN and global engagement by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Romyen Kosaikanont; and “Mind Gym: Train Your Brain, Train Your Mind, Live Happily” on mental health by Dr. Nuth Graipaspong. Embassy officers also provided consular consultations for students.
Highlight activities included the Talent Show, where the students showcased their skills in 11 performances, such as plays, singing, traditional dances, and poetry, impressing all participants. Another highlight was the field visit to the National Museum of Indonesia, which houses the bronze elephant statue gifted by King Rama V to the Indonesian people, a symbol of Thai–Indonesian friendship, allowing students to learn more about Indonesia’s history, art, and culture.
