Updated measures for foreigners traveling to Thailand (as of 11 January 2022)

  • All travellers wishing to enter Thailand must complete pre-travel registration via “Thailand Pass” (http://tp.consular.go.th) at least 7 working days before departure.
  • Test and Go (no quarantine) scheme has been suspended until further notice, except for those who registered before 22 December 2021 and already received their Test and Go QR codes.
  • As of now, travellers who wish to register for Thailand Pass have 2 entry options:

Option 1 – Alternative Quarantine (AQ) scheme

        1. – Available for those arriving in Bangkok and Phuket

 

        1. – 7-day quarantine at an AQ facility for fully-vaccinated travellers

 

        1. – 10-day quarantine at an AQ facility for non-vaccinated travellers

 

        1. – Hotel reservation must be inclusive of 2 PCR tests, airport pick-up, and 3 meals per day (full board).

 

        1. – Must have insurance with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD

 

 

Option 2 – Sandbox Programmes in PHUKET, KRABI, PHANG-NGA, and Surat Thani (only Samui, Koh Tao, and Koh Pha Phangan)

        1. – For fully-vaccinated travellers only

 

        1. – No quarantine at the hotel, but need to stay in the sandbox area at least 7 days before travelling to other parts of Thailand

 

        1. – For Sandbox in Phuket, Krabi, and Phang-Nga, travellers need reservation for at least 7 nights with SHA Extra+ hotels in the said provinces. Within the 7-day period, change of hotel is possible only among hotels located the same province. Travellers may travel to other provinces (Phuket, Krabi, Phang-Nga) during the day as long as they return to sleep at their hotel. Hotel reservation MUST be inclusive of airport pick up.         1. , without airport pick up will be rejected. Travellers must book and pre-pay for their two RT-PCR tests through

        1. and upload the payment receipt issued through the PSAS system when registering for their Thailand Pass. Without the said receipt, their Thailand Pass application will be rejected.

 

        1. – For Sandbox in Surat Thani (Samui, Koh Tao & Koh Phangan), travellers need reservation for 7 days with Samui Extra Plus or SHA Extra+ hotels. At least the 1st night must be in Samui; the other 6 nights can be in Samui, Koh Tao and/or Koh Phangan. After receiving negative PCR test result, travellers may leave their hotel in Samui to travel to Koh Tao and Koh Phangan. Hotel confirmation MUST be inclusive of airport pick up and two RT-PCR tests. Booking confirmation issued by online agent, such as booking.com, without airport pick up & two RT-PCR tests will be rejected.

 

        1. – Must have insurance with minimum coverage of 50,000 USD

– ** For Sandbox Programme in Phuket, Krabi, and Pang-Nga, travellers must arrive at Phuket International Airport directly from outside of Thailand. They CANNOT arrive in Bangkok and connect their flights to the said provinces (but they can transit through any other countries before arriving in Phuket). Those arriving in Bangkok will be required to enter quarantine in Bangkok under the Alternative Quarantine scheme.
– ** For Sandbox Programme in Surat Thani (Samui, Koh Tao & Koh Phangan), travellers must either arrive at Samui International Airport directly from outside of Thailand or transfer through Bangkok only with sealed routes flights (Bangkok Airways: PG5125 / PG5151 or PG5171), which are booked together with the Indonesia-Bangkok flight in a SINGLE BOOKING issued by the airlines only. Those who book domestic flight from Bangkok to Samui separately will not be allowed to travel to Samui, and will be required to enter quarantine in Bangkok under the Alternative Quarantine scheme.
