Updated measures on traveling to Thailand from 1 April 2022 onwards (for Non-Thais)

All travelers wishing to enter Thailand must complete pre-travel registration via “Thailand Pass” (http://tp.consular.go.th) at least 7 working days before departure. Successful registrants will receive a QR Code sent via email. They must present this QR Code for boarding and entering Thailand.

As of now, three entry schemes are available for registration via Thailand Pass platform:

(1) Test & Go

  • Must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure.
  • No quarantine, but need fully paid reservation at SHA Extra+/AQ hotel for 1 night (check-in on date of arrival)
  • Hotel reservation must expressly include the following:
  • airport pick-up (The hotel must be within a 5-hour drive from the international airport you arrived)
  • one RT-PCR test
  • one ATK self-test
  • For Phuket/Phang-Nga/Krabi visitors, they must book and pre-pay for their RT-PCR test & ATK self-test via www.thailandpsas.com (This is different from those who wish to stay in Bangkok or elsewhere in Thailand, where tests must be booked through the hotel, as part of the room package).
  • Travellers must stay at the hotel while waiting for the RT-PCR test result
  • Travellers entering Test & Go scheme in Phuket must enter Thailand through Phuket International Airport (transfer from Bangkok to Phuket is only possible through sealed route flights)

  • Foreigners must have health insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD (except for Thai nationals).
  • From 1 April 2022, travellers are no longer required to present negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hrs. before departure.

(2) Alternative Quarantine (AQ)

  • 5-day quarantine at an AQ facility
  • Hotel reservation must be inclusive of 1 PCR test, airport pick-up, and 3 meals per day (full board).
  • Foreigners must have health insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD (except for Thai nationals).
  • From 1 April 2022, travellers are no longer required to present negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hrs. before departure.

(3) Sandbox

  • Sandbox Areas : Phuket, Krabi, Phang-Nga / Surat Thani (Samui, Koh Tao, Koh Phangan) / Chon Buri (Bang Lamung, Pattaya, Si Racha, Si Chang, and Sattahip – only Na Jomtien and Bang Saray) / Trat (Ko Chang)
  • Must be fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure.
  • No quarantine, but need to stay in the area for at least 5 days before travelling to other parts of Thailand.
  • Need paid reservation at SHA Extra+ hotel in the area for at least 5 nights.
  • Hotel reservation must be inclusive of airport pick-up.
  • For a list of SHA Extra+ hotels, visit https://web.thailandsha.com/shaextraplus
  • Must have evidence of pre-payment for 1 RT-PCR test & 1 ATK self-test.
  • For Phuket, Krabi, Phang-Nga, the tests must be booked and paid for here: www.thailandpsas.com
  • For other areas, the tests must be booked and paid for through the SHA Extra+ hotels, and must be included expressly in hotel reservation
  • Foreigners must have health insurance with minimum coverage of 20,000 USD (except for Thai nationals).
  • From 1 April 2022, travellers are no longer required to present negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hrs. before departure.
  • Points of entry
  • By air at Phuket International Airport for Krabi, Phang-Nga, and Phuket.
  • By air at Krabi International Airport for Krabi.
  • By air at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, then transfer for a sealed flight for Ko Samui or Phuket.
  • By air at Suvarnabhumi Airport, then travel by a prearranged vehicle on a sealed route to Bang Lamung, Pattaya, Si Racha, Si Chang, and Sattahip – only Na Jomtien and Bang Saray – in Chon Buri, and Ko Chang in Trat.

 

More information on certificate of vaccination

  • Issued by a government authority, containing personal information of the travelers (name, date of birth, passport number) and information on the vaccine (name, batch number, vaccination dates).
  • Without the certificate of vaccination, travelers are required to enter 5-day quarantine at an AQ hotel.
  • Accepted vaccines: Sinovac (2 doses, 2 weeks apart) / AstraZeneca (2 doses, 4 weeks apart) / Johnson & Johnson (1 dose) / Pfizer (2 doses, 3 weeks apart) / Moderna (2 doses, 4 weeks apart) / Sinopharm (2 doses, 3 weeks apart) / Sputnik V (2 doses, 3 weeks apart) / Covaxin (2 doses, 4 weeks apart) / Novavax/Nuvavocid (2 doses, 14 days apart) / Medigen (2 doses, 4 weeks) / Sputnik Light – accepted for Sandbox scheme only (1 dose)
  • If the duration between two doses are less than that set by the manufacturer, the certificate of vaccination will be rejected.
  • Combination of different vaccines is accepted provided that the period between the 1st and 2nd dose was in accordance with the period set by the manufacture of the first dose.
  • Those infected and have recovered may present certificate of recovery together with evidence of 1 dose of vaccination administered after infection.
  • Children under 12 travelling with parents are exempted from having to present a certificate of vaccination.
  • Children above the age of 12 but under 18 are required to present a certificate of vaccination showing 1 dose of vaccination, unless they are travelling with parents, in which case they will be exempted from having to present a certificate of vaccination.
