On 10-12 March 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy, Jakarta, along with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thai Trade Center and Office of the Agricultural Affairs, co-organized the Wisata Thailand Festival 2023 at Kota Kasablanka Mall, Jakarta. Under the banner “Amazing Thailand, Amazing New Chapters”, the festival highlighted Thailand’s famous food, film, fashion, fighting (sports) and showcased Thai tourism and new Thai travel experiences, Thai culture and local wisdom, as well as Thai food and products to the eyes of Indonesian people. The opening ceremony was held on 10 March 2023, presided by H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia, and Mr. Tanes Petsuwan, Deputy Governor of TAT, in the presence of Diplomatic Corps and dignitaries from both Indonesian and Thai governments and private sectors.
The Wisata Thailand Festival 2023 displayed booths and exhibits featuring Thai products and services ranging from authentic Thai food, Thai products, Thai fabrics, air tickets and tour packages to Thailand, to Thai performances and Thai local wisdom showcases, such as the making of Thai shadow puppets or “Nang Talung”, the Khon Masks or “Hua Khon” and a D.I.Y. Thai Herbal Inhaler activity which received high praise from participants. During the course of the 3-day event, there were almost 270,000 visitors resulting in a considerable success in promoting “Thainess” to the Indonesian community, as well as opening the door of opportunities for Thai business entrepreneurs in expanding their markets in the archipelago.
