On 3–5 June 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, in collaboration with the Association of Thai Students in Indonesia (ATSI), organized the Thai Student Gathering 2026 under the theme “Beyond Knowing: Branding Your Growth” in Surabaya. The event brought together more than 170 Thai students from 30 cities across Indonesia.
On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia, presided over the opening ceremony and welcomed Thai students participating both onsite and online. He emphasized that the Thai Student Gathering is one of the Embassy’s key annual initiatives to strengthen connections and networks among Thai students across Indonesia, while promoting the knowledge, skills, and capabilities necessary for their studies, future careers, and personal development. Under the theme “Beyond Knowing: Branding Your Growth,” the event also encouraged students to further develop their potential and communicate their strengths and identities creatively in preparation for future opportunities.
During the event, Thai students attended lectures by distinguished speakers on self-discovery, personal development, communication, and image building. These included “Discover Yourself to Design Your Future YOU!” by Mrs. Pattama Sirikul, President of the Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, and “Brand Image & Communication” by Mr. Saharat Potito, Deputy Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Jakarta Office. Students also gained inspiration from an online special talk by Mr. Tan Passakornnatee, Founder of Ichitan Group Public Company Limited. In addition, the Embassy provided mobile consular services and consular consultations for Thai students.
Furthermore, students participated in study visits to (1) PT Dayasa Aria Prima, (2) PT ECCO Indonesia, (3) PT TPC Plastic and Chemicals, and (4) PT Siam Maspion Terminal, which provided valuable insights into future career opportunities. They also took part in a Talent Show, showcasing their talents and creativity while fostering friendship and unity among Thai students in Indonesia.
