On 18 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Indonesia, led a delegation from the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta in a meeting with Dr. Din Wahid, M.A., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Cooperation and Institutional Development of Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta (UIN Jakarta), and UIN Jakarta’s management team.
On this occasion, both sides discussed cooperation between UIN Jakarta and universities in Thailand. The Ambassador emphasised the importance of promoting educational relations and people-to-people ties between the two countries, and expressed the Royal Thai Embassy’s readiness to support and facilitate academic cooperation between UIN Jakarta and universities in Thailand. The Ambassador also expressed appreciation to UIN Jakarta for its care and support for Thai students. During the discussion, the Vice Rector commended the Thai students for their academic performance and good conduct, noting that one of the Thai students had also been selected to serve as the President of UIN Jakarta International Students Association.
In addition, the Ambassador and the delegation had the opportunity to meet with Thai students currently studying at UIN Jakarta to hear about their experiences of studying and living in Indonesia. The delegation also shared information on the Embassy’s educational and consular programmes, as well as useful information for living in Indonesia.
