On 9–10 March 2026, H.E. Mrs. Hathaichanok Riddhagni Frumau, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, led a delegation on a working visit to Banda Aceh, Aceh Province. During the visit, the Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission held discussions with Drs. Syakir, Assistant for Governance, Aceh Special Status, and People’s Welfare of the Aceh Regional Secretary, who represented the Governor of Aceh. Both sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and explore opportunities for future cooperation.
Mrs. Hathaichanok and her delegation also had a meeting with Prof. Taufiq Saidi, Vice Rector for Cooperation, and administrators of Universitas Syiah Kuala, where more than 70 Thai students are currently studying, the majority of whom are enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine. In addition, the delegation met with executives of RSUD Zainoel Abidin, where some Thai medical students undertake their clinical training, led by Dr. Arifatul Khorida, Deputy Director for Human Resource Development. The Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission expressed her gratitude to the university and the hospital for taking care of the Thai students.
Mrs. Hathaichanok and her delegation also organized an Embassy’s Clinic with Thai students in Banda Aceh. The session provided an opportunity to exchange views and offer guidance on academic matters and daily life in Indonesia, help the students enhance their knowledge and skills both in their studies and in adapting to life abroad, as well as strengthen connections and solidarity among Thai students in the area.
