On 28 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, welcomed a delegation of 37 business representatives participating in a business opportunity exploration programme entitled “Indonesia Exclusive Trip 2026” jointly organized by Bangkok Bank and Permata Bank. On this occasion, Ambassador Prapan delivered a briefing on Indonesia’s economic development and key economic policies, as well as the role of the Royal Thai Embassy in supporting and safeguarding the interests of Thai businesses operating in Indonesia.
The Ambassador highlighted Indonesia’s trade and investment potential as a large market with a population of more than 280 million and abundant natural resources. Household consumption is a key driver of the Indonesian economy, accounting for more than 50 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). He also emphasized the importance of Thai businesses interested in entering the Indonesian market familiarizing themselves with the country’s relevant regulations and understanding local consumer preferences to ensure their business strategies are well suited to the local market.
