On 2 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, attended the ESG Symposium 2025 Indonesia which was organized by SCG Indonesia at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Mega Kuningan. Held under the theme “Decarbonizing for Our Sustainable Tomorrow,” the event served as a platform for discussions on strategies of the industrial sector to accelerate decarbonization.
On this occasion, The Ambassador delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the imperative of decarbonization for the survival of mankind and the preservation of the planet. He also highlighted severe floods in various provinces in southern Thailand and various areas in Sumatra in Indonesia as clear evidence of the escalating impacts of climate change. Furthermore, he reiterated Thailand’s aspiration to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 and net zero emissions by 2065, underscoring key national significant efforts to advance this goal, including the drafting of the Climate Change Act which will serve as a key policy framework to drive Thailand toward Net Zero. He also stressed Thailand’s readiness to work closely with Indonesia to realise this ambition, particularly through the development of carbon capture storage (CCS) technology.
This year’s symposium is the third edition organised by SCG Indonesia, with the objective of providing a platform for various sectors, particularly the business community, to exchange their ideas and their best practices that encourage the implementation of the ESG principle in their business operations.
