On 4 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy, together with the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN, hosted the Reception on the Occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Thai Father’s Day on 5 December 2025 at The St. Regis Jakarta, Jakarta. Among the more than 550 guests in attendance were H.E. Mr. Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, Vice Minister of Culture of Indoensia, as Guest of Honour, H.E. Mr. Sultan Baktiar Najamudin, Speaker of the Regional Representative Council of Indonesia (DPD), officials and staff of the Team Thailand, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Thai and Indonesian business communities, and members of the Thai community in Indonesia.
On this occasion, the Ambassador invited all the guests to view a special documentary and delivered remarks honouring the enduring legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. He also paid tribute to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and highlighted key developments that signify the significant progress in all areas in bilateral relations between Thailand and Indonesia in 2025, which marks the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. Among these milestones was the official visit of President Prabowo Subianto to Thailand on 18 May 2025 during which the relations were elevated to a Strategic Partnership.
The Vice Minister extended his warmest congratulations to His Majesty The King on this special occasion and paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. He also stressed the strengthened ties between the two countries, including various celebratory activities jointly organized by Thailand and Indonesia in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. One of the highlights was the Joint Cultural Performance, which reflected the strong cultural connection and enduring friendship between the two countries.
The Reception received strong support from Team Thailand offices and Thai businesses in Indonesia. It also featured a special photo exhibition of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother during their state visit to Indonesia in 1960, as well as 12 food and beverage stalls from the Residence of Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, the Office of Agricultural Affairs, and numerous Thai restaurants in Indonesia. A Thai business corner was also set up to showcase the growing potential of Thai businesses in Indonesia. The special gifts created by the Embassy to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations were also distributed in the reception.
