On 4 December 2023, the Royal Thailand Embassy, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of Thailand to ASEAN hosted the reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and the Thai Father’s Day at Fairmont Jakarta.
Ambassador Prapan Disyatat delivered remarks honouring His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s legacy and detailing ways to forge closer cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia. His Excellency Mr. Sandiaga Salahuddin, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, as Guest of Honour, thanked Thailand for the valuable support during Indonesia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2023 and reaffirmed Indonesia’s readiness to work closely with Thailand to enhance cooperation in various areas such as energy transition, EV industry, and achieving net zero emissions.
The reception was attended by more than 800 guests, including His Excellency Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, the diplomatic corps, representatives from Indonesian public and private sectors, Friends of Thailand, Thai private sector and communities. The reception featured a cappella performance of the royal compositions “Oh I Say” and “Love at Sundown”, and cultural performances under the theme of Fascinating Thailand, performed by Thai and Indonesian youth, as well as a variety of Thai food provided by numerous Thai restaurants in Jakarta and Surabaya with the support from Team Thailand in Jakarta, the Thai Business Club Indonesia (TBCI), and Thai companies in Indonesia.
