On 23 November 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Jakarta Office), Thai Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia, Thai Friend Community, and Sanuk Mak, organised Loy Kratong Festival 2024 under the theme “Krathong of Unity” at the Embassy. There were over 100 participants in attendance, including Ambassador Prapan Disyatat, Madam Rutchanee Uerpairojkit, officials of the Royal Thai Embassy and Team Thailand, members of Thai community in Indonesia, as well as Indonesian public. The festival aimed to introduce the Loy Krathong tradition to the Indonesian public by inviting them to craft their own Krathong, participate in Loy Krathong traditional dances, and take part in the floating of their Krathongs. Loy Krathong Festival 2024 built upon the success of Loy Krathong Festival 2023 by expanding participation and providing more engaging activities such as Krathong competition which allowed participants to showcase their creativity. The event also received an overwhelming response from the Indonesian public with almost 700 registrations within one hour after the Embassy opened the registration.
