On 27 August 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, in collaboration with Duta Bahasa DKI Jakarta, organised the Learn Indonesian While Cooking with RASA session for Thai participants at the Trisakti Institute of Tourism in Jakarta.
On this occasion, Mrs. Hathaichanok Riddhagni Frumau, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission of the Royal Thai Embassy in Jakarta, delivered the opening remarks, emphasising that language, culture and food serve as important bridges connecting people. She highlighted that the Learn Indonesian While Cooking with RASA activity provided a valuable opportunity for people of Thailand and Indonesia to exchange ideas, learn from, and understand one another, while further strengthening people-to-people relations between the two countries.
The Learn Indonesian While Cooking with RASA activity was organised under the Ruang Bahasa dan Budaya Nusantara (RASA) programme of Duta Bahasa DKI Jakarta, which brings together language, food and culture to promote Indonesian language learning through practical experience. On this occasion, Thai participants learned basic Indonesian through hands-on sessions on preparing Soto Betawi and Bir Pletok, well-known traditional food and beverage of Jakarta, helping to enhance their understanding of and interest in learning the Indonesian language.
