On 10 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Prapan Disyatat, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, presided over the opening ceremony of the Thai Festival 2026 at Central Park Mall, Jakarta. The event was attended by more than 100 participants, including H.E. Ms. Irene Umar, Vice Minister of Creative Economy of Indonesia; the Honourable Ms. Alien Mus, Chair of the Thailand–Indonesia Parliamentary Friendship Group; heads and members of Team Thailand agencies; officials from the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, and Indonesian government agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture of Indonesia; members of the diplomatic corps; representatives from Thai and Indonesian private sectors; the Thai community; and renowned Thai artists popular among the Indonesian public. These included the T-Pop group PERSES and five artists from JAYA Studio: (1) Ms. Jutamas Wangsawat (Nam), (2) Ms. Kharittha Sungsaopath (Chingching), (3) Mr. Tantachj Tharinpirom (Yudo), (4) Mr. Nattadanai Wongsathitsathaporn (Best), and (5) Mr. Phusanu Wongsavanischakorn (Yoon).
The festival was held from 10–12 July 2026 under the theme “Creative Life & Creative Heartbeat” and was aimed at showcasing Thailand’s creative industries to the Indonesian public through a wide range of activities highlighting Thai cuisine, Thai products, and Thai popular music (T-Pop). The event featured Thai food vendors, exhibitions and sales of Thai products and services, as well as presentations celebrating the cultural heritage and craftsmanship of traditional Thai attire (Chud Thai).
Festival highlights included an exhibition of Chud Thai (Thai costume), the Chud Thai AI Photo Studio, where visitors experienced AI-generated photography in Thai traditional dress, a Thai costume fashion show, Thai cultural performances, and T-Pop performances by Thai artists, offering Indonesian audiences an engaging experience of Thailand’s rich cultural heritage and contemporary creative industries.
