Ambassador Prapan Disyatat welcomed Dr. Krissanapong Kirtikara, Chairman of the Princess Maha Chakri (PMCA) Foundation, the delegation from the Foundation and 4 Indonesian PMCA Award teachers to the Royal Thai Embassy, Jakarta on 27 September 2023.
On the said occasion, the Ambassador of Thailand and the Chairman of PMCA Foundation, co-chaired meetings between the Foundation Committee, Team Thailand and representatives of the Thai Business Club Indonesia (TBCI), namely PTTEP Indonesia, PT SCG Indonesia, PT Dharmapala Usaha Sukses, and PT Central Indonesia, to advance cooperation in the field of education in Indonesia as well as to support the Foundation’s activities in the future. The local media including Republika and Berita Satu also took the opportunity to interview the 4 PMCA teachers who shared good practices especially how to overcome learning obstacles during the pandemic.
During the visit to Indonesia, the PMCA Foundation delegation, accompanied by the representatives of the Embassy, paid a courtesy call on Ir. Suharti, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia and visited two schools of the PMCA teachers in Bandarv Lampung and Binjai, Sumatra.
The Princess Maha Chakri Award is a royally bestowed international award dedicated to honour exceptional teachers in basic education from 10 ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste. Since 2015, five Indonesian teachers have received the award from various background and educational fields. Mrs. Harisdayani, a teacher at 2 Junior Secondary School (SMP 2), Binjai is the latest Indonesian recipient of the PMCA this year. Between 28-29 September 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy, Jakarta also accompanied the delegation on a visit to PMCA teachers from 2021 (Bandar Lumpung) and from 2023 (Binjai)
