On 18 October 2019, HE Mr. Songphol Sukchan, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, welcomed a group of 58 SME entrepreneurs from the SMEs Thai Go Inter Trade Association. The Ambassador gave an overview of the Indonesian economy and SME businesses in Indonesia, as well as discussed the opportunities and obstacles in doing business in Indonesia. Additionally, Ms. Bhornbhat Punggok, Minister Counselor (Commercial) talked about the rules and regulations regarding trade and Ms. Naphat Thuppun, Minister Counselor (Investment) provided information about the investment climate in Indonesia.
The group of SME entrepreneurs traveled to Jakarta to attend the Trade Expo Indonesia 2019. Their businesses encompass many fields such as processed agricultural products, cosmetics, processed foods, herbal products, and tourism related products. The Trade Expo also allowed for business matching opportunities for the Thai SMEs.
