On 20 October 2019, H.E. Mr. Wissanu Krea-ngam, Deputy Prime Minister as a Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Thailand, attended the Inauguration Ceremony of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin of Indonesia at the People’s Consultative Assembly Building of Indonesia in Jakarta.
The Inauguration Ceremony was attended by 17 Heads of States, Heads of Governments, Vice Presidents and Special Envoys. Mr. Songphol Sukchan, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia and Ambassadors of friendly countries in Indonesia also attended the Ceremony.
In 2020, Thailand and Indonesia will celebrate 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations. Both countries intend to organize celebratory activities including the possible visit to Thailand of President Jokowi, Business Summit, Education Summit and cultural exchanges.
