On 17 September 2019, H.E. Mr. Songphol Sukchan, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, met with H.E. Mr. Olly Dondokambey, Governor of North Sulawesi to discuss cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia in the areas of fisheries, agriculture, tourism, and academic cooperation. The Ambassador introduced the Thai businesses in the province such as Charoen Pokaphand Indonesia (CPI) that has chicken hatcheries and other agriculture related businesses and PT Indoworld that specializes in coconut products. North Sulawesi has great economic potential, with its good infrastructure and numerous facilities to support investment.
Later in the evening, the Ambassador hosted dinner for the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce And the Industry (KADIN) of North Sulawesi. Both sides discussed ways to enhance trade and investment between Thailand and Indonesia.
