On 31 July 2019, H.E. Mr. Songphol Sukchan, Ambassador of Thailand to Indonesia, presided over the Thai Select award ceremony. A total of 12 Thai restaurants in Jakarta and Bali received the Thai Select brand certification for 2019. The event was organized by the Thai Trade Center in Jakarta, and included over 70 participants, comprising representatives of Thai restaurants and Thai food importers and fruits in Indonesia as well.
Ambassador thanked the Thai restaurants for their contribution to the “Thai Kitchen to the World” policy, as Thai restaurants are an important representation of Thai food, culture, and travel. Thai restaurants overseas have also helped to improve tourism in Thailand. Currently there are 120 Thai restaurants and beverage shops in Jakarta, of which 14 restaurants have already received the Thai Select certification.
